Pressure
Sand Filter
Filter is used to remove physical impurities from the
swimming pool water and it may be of various type i.e. Cartrege
filter, Pressure sand filter, D.E. Filter etc. But in our
atmosphere and working conditions, pressure sand filters is
commonly used due to its low maintenance and wide range of
capacity.
Iontech
pressure sand filter for swimming pool are designed on the
basis of 20-40 Mtr./hr. water velocity accross the pressure
sand filter depending upon the size of swimming pool.
Iontech
pressure filter are fabricated from high quality M.S. Sheets
by the skilled workers under the supervision of experienced
engineering team. the filters are tested upto 5.0 Kg./cm ²
pressure before external & internal painting works. All
piping fabricated of M.S. ERW piping and assembled with high
quality rubber gaskets and hardware. Valves are used in pressure
filters are of Audco, Venus make (Metalic) Midas, Prehar (ABS
Plastic multiport upto 65 mm NB).
Circulation
Pump
The pump set is the heart of filtration system and selection
of appropriate pump set is the key of proper circulation system.
Iontech swimming pool filtration system are equipped with
standard and branded pump set such as Kirloskar, Becon, Bharat
Bijli, Crompton, Mather + Platt make. These Indian pumps are
most suitable due to their low maintenance, availability of
spares, after sales service, wide range of flow rate and required
head and off course competitive cost.
Suction
Sweeper
Suction sweeper is a device which is used for sucking the
heavy particles of swimming pool being setteled naturally
or by cogulation from the bottom of pool with minimum disturbance
of the clear water. It works like a vaccume cleaner. Iontech
suction sweeper having stainless steel body with stainless
steel spring actuated nylon brush, heavy duty nylon vaccume
pipe, trolley mounted self priming non-clog pump set of Kirlosker,
three core flexible electrical cabling and MCB operated industrial
socket and plug. If swimming pool size is small than main
re-circulation pump can be used instead of separate vaccume
pump.
Chemical
Dosing Equipment
Chemical dosing equipment (Pump) are used for dosing of chemicals
in the large swimming pools. Chemical like liquid chlorine
is used for disinfection (Killing of bacteria, algae), Alum
and soda Ash are used for Cogulation means to convert the
suspended particles in the flocks (heavy particles) which
would be retained in the pressure filter or settled in the
bottom of the swimming pool.
Hair
Strainer
Iontech hair stainer are used as pre-filter to protect the
pump impeller, which might be damaged by small stone particles,
any piece of metalic / plastic hardware, leaves, small grass
and specially from human hair. The size of hair strainer is
designed for minimum ten time surface area of screen basket
in respect to cross sectional area of suction side of pumpset
strainers are fabricated from M.S. pipe with flange fitting
arrangement and quick openable lid with rubber 'O' ring. The
main screen is fabricated from S.S. perforated sheet.
Electrical
Control Panel
Electrical control panel must be installed with any type of
electrical motor. The panel would help to protect electrical
equipments e. g. recirculation pump set, dosing pumps, suction
sweeper as well as human life. Electrical control panel used
with Iontech filtration system are equipped with all measuring
equipments e.g. volt meter, ampere meter etc., and with all
protection devices e.g. overload relay, appropriate contactor
for motors, suitable MCB and colour coaded and marked power
as well as
control wiring to facilitate replacement of any component
in the future. The panel is fitted with all standard accessories
of L & T, Seimens, English electric etc.
Easy
Test Kit
Easy test kit is used for instant checking of residule chlorine
and pH value of the swimming pool water at site only.
How
To Select & maintain a Proper Filtration System
Few valuable tips are given below to select the best swimming
pool filtration system suitable for your swimming pool.
Determination
of Turn-over period
The turn-over period for small swimming pool (below 1 lakh
ltr. water holding capacity) should not exceed more than 4
- 5 hours, for medium size swimming pool (1 lakh ltr. to 5
lakh ltr. water holding capacity), turn over period should
be considered 5 to 6 hours and for large swimming pool (more
than 5 lakh ltrs. water holding capacity) the turn over period
should not be exceed more than 8 hours.
Specially
for open overflow type swimming pool the rate of flow of recirculating
water should be at least that much, that it can be overflow
from at least 75% peripheral area to achieve the sparkling
clear water in the swimming pool.
Pressure
filter should be designed with maximum 25 - 30 Mtr./hr. (25-30
M³/hr./M² filtration rate) water velocity across
the pressure filter for the small pool and for the medium
& large pools the velocity must be not more than 20 Mtrs./hr.
For
Examaple:
Swimming pool size is 40 feet length, 20 feet width and average
depth is 4 feet.

small pool the turnover period should be 4-5 hours, therefore

It
is common sense that the larger area of any filtration surface
would be block in longer time and frequent backwash would
not be required in comparison to small filter.
Recirculating
pump set should be selected at least 20% higher capacity to
take care decreasing of efficiency, ware and tear losses being
occurred in the span of time, therefore replacement of component
or complete pump would not be required at least before 5-6
years minimum.
Electrical
control panel should be equipt with all standard / branded
components which are having proper control as well as longer
life.
The
dosing of chemicals in the swimming pool should be maintained
properly to achieve longer life of swimming pool water as
well as filtration system. The consumption of chemicals should
be checked regularly because it is a major re-curring expense
and has to be controlled to reduces the running cost. Generally
the consumption of chemicals increases during the rain, dust
warm and heavy load of swimmers in the swimming pool.
Be
ensure the voltage of electrical supply should be proper to
avoid any electrical break down. If the voltage fluctuation
are very frequent, one automatic voltage stabilizer of required
capacity might be installed before the electrical control
panel.
Filtration
plant should be operated daily as per the turnover period
of the system.
Suction
sweeper must be operated everyday in early morning hours because
all suspended particles settled down in the bottom.
M.S.
sheet fabricated pressure filter should be painted internally
and externally after every four years at least to achieve
longer life of filtration plant.
The
filtration plant should be installed as nearest to the pool
to reduce pipe line losses and pumping cost.
